Family History

When her husband, Emile Converse, passed away in 1925, Elizabeth (aka Eliza) Linn Converse (1858-1931) began renting this home out with her adult daughters, Ellen and Florence Converse, and her young granddaughter Elveira Converse. Ellen worked in a department store and Florence in a beauty salon. After Eliza died at the residence in 1931, the home was subsequently sold to Eugene Harding, an army veteran employed at Saint Joseph’s Church in Massillon,  and Gladys Wantz Harding, a teacher. After their first son, David, the couple went on to have twins, Ronald and Donald.
