Per City directory records, Dr. Clark Enoch Stewart (1875-1945) had this house built for his family around 1908. It was the Stewart family home for almost 60 years, and it appears the doctor had his office out of the home.  The good doctor resided here with his first wife Antoinette Andrus Stewart (1882-1923) their son, William, and servant Bernice Foster. After Antoinette’s untimely death at the age of 40 in 1923, Dr. Clark married his second wife Grace (1889-1969) sometime before 1929. The couple continued to live in this home and had two children together, Mary and Clark David. Sadly, Clark David pre-deceased his mother in 1965 when he was just 30 years old.
