Family History

This was the home of Edwin and Louise Wyler. From what I can gather, Louise’s father, Louis Schneider was a tile setter from Switzerland. In the 1920s and 1930s, the couple lived with him in a home just down the street at #1740where Louis taught Edwin the tile setting trade. By the 1950s, Edwin and Louise had purchased this impressive home at  #1654 where Edwin set up shop as Wyler’s Tile Company, “Tilers of Quality.”
