Located in Soulsville/Lemoyne-Owen College area. Interesting roof lines, and I love the blue-tiled fireplace mantel. The home is $5k over our preferred price range, but you know what Tennessee real estate has become.
Family History
From 1912 to 1917, this was the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Graff. Lewis was a baggage checker at the Memphis Grand Central Station. Apparently, in 1916 farm animals were allowed in Memphis city limits ( I just leaned milch means milk producing) as the Graffs were selling a cow and calf located at the residence. After, the couple moved from the house, a couple of families came and went, and in 1946, the house was selling for $8,000, the equivalent of $114,000 today.
I’m just going to say, the price is a little steep for this neighborhood. I was born and raised in Memphis TN and I work 911 in this neighborhood currently. As much as I love my city, there’s no doubt it’s the most dangerous city the country right now.
