c.1914 Former Bank For Sale in Nebraska $35K
$35,000
Two-bedroom, 3-piece bathroom former bank for sale in Nebraska. It is now a residence. Too bad they shrunk the windows. Although not pictured, they state some bank features still remain. That’s more than I can say about the town. Not much left of downtown after the Great Depression, as the photos below will indicate.

History
The First State Bank of Holstein was founded in 1902 with A. L. Clarke as president and W. B. Hargleroad as cashier. This brick bank building was constructed in 1914. The bank continued to operate until 1931 when the Great Depression caused its failure.
No bank has operated in the town of Holstein since 1931. Fred Hageman operated a hardware store out of the building for a time. Then Lewis Upholstery occupied the building before the building became a residence.
