OHU50K NOTES
This handyman special was the home of Francis P. Wilson (1836-1923). Francis served in the Union Army’s 6th Illinois Calvary Regiment during the American Civil War, after which he became a minister. Mr. Wilson’s first wife was Martha Jane “Mattie” Lakey. The couple never had children of their own, but they raised Frank’s nephew, Albert, after the death of his parents (Frank’s next younger brother John and wife Ann E. Gregg) in 1863 and 1865.
After Mattie’s death, Frank married the widow Polly Ann Sutton Cleek. The now retired couple lived in this home with Polly’s young granddaughter, Anna McNabb, and a housekeeper.
