209 Orchard St, Hysham, MT 59038
c.1916 Fixer Upper in Hysham, MT Under
The area where the town of Hysham (Pop.312) now sits was just a blank spot on the map of the sprawling Montana prairie before 1906 when it was opened up to homesteaders. By the time this house was built in 1916, the town boasted two stores, a school, blacksmith, lumber yard, churches, banks, concrete sidewalks and electric lights. The period of prosperity lasted for several decades, but in recent years the population has declined.
