For anyone considering this as a family home reconsider. Portsmouth has the highest VIOLENT crime in the state. Ranks # 1 for rape, aggressive bodily harm crimes and murder! Perfect for a quick flip thing only as far as I’m concerned. Have a blessed day!

I find the crime statistic, fear-mongering in the comment section unseemly and rather insulting. If I’m going to make the biggest investment of my life, I’m going to check the crime statistics of the city and neighborhood myself. I don’t need random strangers doing the research for me.

As a potential homeowner, crime stats are very important. The big, greedy real estate companies have removed crime stats recently, and I feel that is a disservice to families looking for a safe neighborhood to raise their kids. Of course, potential homeowners should perform due diligence, but sharing pertinent information is meant to be helpful.
