OHU50K NOTES
The exterior of this move-in ready cottage caught my fancy. One can immediately tell it was originally a storefront ~ in this case a former grocer’s. Good thing is, the original windows are underneath the wood, so I would definitely open them up again.
The property is located in a very pleasant, low-crime neighborhood in Torrington, Connecticut. I love the home’s wood walls, hardwood floors and especially the tin ceiling. Quite a unique property, and at a very cheap price for Connecticut.

REALTOR COMMENTS
DON’T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER! This move-in ready home, built in 1920 and originally a grocer’s, reflected in the main level’s large open room, has retained its antique charm with horizontal solid wood paneling and 12 foot, embossed tin ceiling. The open main level is great the way it is or lends itself to many build-out opportunities.
Either way, this property is a unique and affordable home and a comfortable place to live. The old facade has been removed and the wood trim replaced and painted. The original front windows were insulated and covered but not removed, so they can be restored or replaced if the new owner desires. New hot water heater was installed in the summer of 2019. A new fence was installed in the back yard.
