Family History
This home was built for Thomas Griffin (1889-1951), owner and president of Griffin Auto Company of El Dorado. The company started as a livery stable in 1912 and became the Ford Agency in 1915. he married Coral Pendleton King (1892-1975) in 1910 and lived in the home with her two sons from a previous marriage, Ollie and James, and the couple’s daughter, Betty Sue. Later, as the children became adults and married, in-laws and grandchildren came to live in the home. It stayed in the Griffin family at least until 1975, maybe even later.
