OHU50K NOTES
This c. 1923 Craftsman bungalow is the perfect example of a gorgeous home being neglected. Fortunately, most of the Craftsman elements we all love are still intact, although the floors, especially, are worse for wear.
Family History
The home was built for Dr. Carl W. Babcock (1887-1955), a veterinary surgeon. He lived in the home with his wife Lettie Cordelia Mink Babcock for 32 years, and died in the home in 1955. The couple raised their four children here; Charles, Raymond, Laura and Ida. Sadly, infant son Carl W. passed away at one month. I am sure the siblings had fun playing in the woods at the rear of the property, and I can picture Lettie washing the dishes at the old sink while looking out the window. Hey, did you notice the vintage cupboard in the kitchen?
