OHU50K NOTES

I don’t expect this foreclosure to last long. Someone may have gone overboard with the stenciling, but the home has so much to offer.
Located on a corner lot on a tree-lined street in a low-crime neighborhood of Fitzgerald, Georgia, the c.1925 house boasts hardwood floors, high ceilings, original doors and trim, fireplace, stained glass window, and a yard with stone retaining walls.

Fitzgerald

Fitzgerald, situated in the south central part of the state, has a population of about 9,000 residents.
An interesting story about Fitzgerald:

The town was developed in 1895 by Philander H. Fitzgerald, an Indianapolis newspaper editor. He served as a drummer boy in the Union Army during the Civil War, and when the war was over he founded Fitzgerald as a community for both Union and Confederate war veterans. At first the town attracted primarily Union veterans, about 2,700.

The first two streets on the west side of town were named after Confederate generals Lee and Jonson, while the first two east side side were named for Union generals Grant and Sherman.
