c.1929 Fixer Upper Brick Tudor in Detroit

OHU50K NOTES

You can always tell a Detroit home. The city has some of the best collections of brick cottages in the whole country. Unfortunately, many of them lie vacant. This Tudor style cottage is in the Von Steuben neighborhood and was a model home called The Ruskin in 1930. The ad for the Teppert Custom Built home states the brick beauty featured steam heat, fireplace, 2-car garage, breakfast room, a fully decked-out kitchen and a select neighborhood. I would have loved to have seen the original kitchen, but that is usually the first thing that is messed up in an old home.
In 1994 the home was a HUD Property and was put on owner/occupant auction with a starting bid of $8,500.
