Family History

Per the US Census, the house was owned by Robert Wells (1878-1948) in 1920, so the realtor’s build date of 1930 is incorrect. He shared this home with his wife Helena(1878-1927) and their children Alfred and Frank.  Robert owned his own grocery store in the 1920s, but it seems the death of his wife in 1927 and then the Great Depression forced him out of business. He then became an insurance agent and later a kiln fireman for the Sterling China Company. Upon his death in 1948, the house was sold.
