History
This was the home in which Phyllis Walker, 1951 Miss West Virginia, grew up. The 18-year old, a straight-A student at West Virginia University, placed among the top 15 at Atlantic City and won a $1,000 scholarship for dramatic talent. She went on to be in the 1952 Miss America Contest where she came in the top 16. Later she married a Navy officer and became a model in New York.
