This old house is located off the Ohio River Scenic Byway, opposite the Lesko Park Bike Path. To be near a set of grandchildren part of the year, we have a second house in a nearby town. We often walk the bike path and love to watch the barges navigate the turn in the river there. Our featured house today has a great view of the bend in the river.

Downtown Aurora is in walking distance from the house, where you will find beautiful old churches and architectural gems like the Hillforest House Museum. Lawrenceburg is short drive away, where loads of restaurants and all the amenities are there for one to enjoy, plus Cincinnati is a short commute for jobs.

So now the flooding issue. The Ohio River Byway does flood. I have seen the bike path under water. The FEMA flood map below shows that the house, however, is not in the flood plain. The home sits high above the river. I should mention, though, that when the Byway floods, the homes on John Street have no access.
