OHU50K NOTES

Located in the Highland Park neighborhood of Montgomery, Alabama, this was the home of Ersie Tranum Helms. She purchased the home around the mid 1950s with her husband Edward Helms. I found several building permits in the 1950s that were made to fix the rear porch and to build the concrete front porch.  Edward passed in 1959, and the Widow Helms lived in the home until her death in 1983. In 1987, the house was listed for sale for  $37,500.

Cute little house! Montgomery is home to the F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald house musuem. Its a big beautiful bungalow where Zelda and Scotte lived while F. Scott was in Hollywood writing scripts. The house museum is full of Fitzgerald memorabilia.
