History
This house, known as the Harveyville House, is located opposite Harvey’s Grocery and Texaco Station and appears to have been the home of Henry Harvey (1886-1955). Situated about three miles west of Camden, Arkansas, this historic general store was established by Henry Harvey in 1941. The building was reconstructed in 1948 to replace the log building which had become too small. It served as a campaign stop for notable politicians, including Bill Clinton. The general store and restaurant was operated by Henry Harvey’s grandson, Bobby Hildebrand, as late as 2002 or so. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2001 and is no longer in business.
