OHU50K NOTES

Calling all buyers who like the boondocks. This starter home sits on a large corner lot in the tiny town of Sagerton, Texas (pop. 115).Don’t blink if you are driving through Sagerton, though, because you will miss the place.

The town was founded 1905 and was named after the local landowner. W.M. Sager, who donated land for the community.

With two railroad line connections, Sagerton soon became a shipping point for beef, chicken and cotton.

Two horrific fires, however,  (1917 and 1926) ruined Sagerton’s plans for prosperity.  The mercantile (shown below) is gone, and the old store on our featured home’s property is closed. I suppose a new owner could set up some kind of online business in it, but the population is unlikely to support a brick-and-mortar business.
