History
This is the Fries/Kespohl House. The Italianate was built in 1866. In the 1870 US Census the following people lived in the home: widow Anna Bader Kespohl, son Henry Kespohl, his wife Johanna, his toddler daughter Telia, children Johanna, Bertha and Louisa Fries, and two servants. Henry Kespohl was of Bavarian descent who made his money as a grocer. Kespohl relatives also owned a dry good store.
