History
This impressive, historic home is the Fuller/Monroe/Reid House. Captain Samuel Day Fuller (1828-1885) built the Queen Anne in 1880. According to family accounts, he owned 200 slaves and 10,000 acres before leaving it all behind to become captain of his regiment in the Confederate Army. By the time Fuller built this home, he was no longer a slave owner, and (per the family) he and his wife, Sarah Bowman Fuller (1834-1922), had become respected and honored in the community.
