Family History

 

Mr. Robert Nelson Ray (1854-1942) owned this home with his wife, Belle. The couple lived here with their children, Robert, Nelson and Belle (not too original with naming their kids), along with a servant.

Mr. Ray was president of the Indiana Evening Gazette. He came to America from Ireland as an infant with his parents in 1854 right after Ireland’s potato famine.
