Cheapish Circa 1913 Michigan Schoolhouse For Sale on 1.33 Acres $75K
OHU50K Notes $75,000
Agent Comments
Do you appreciate the style and architecture of a classic old schoolhouse? The maple flooring on the south side was sanded, and the large area is set up for a living/bedroom area with an electric space heater. There is a galley style kitchen and functional 2 fixture bath (no shower). The rest of the structure will need a large rehab and offers endless possibilities! The metal roof was replaced 4 years ago, and the electric panel was upgraded so there were major improvements already completed. Building has been used as a weekend cottage. Electric is off for now (Consumers Power) so please bring a flashlight to show. Be very cautious in rooms with flooring issues. Security cameras in use.

History
In 1866, the Summit Township School District No. 3, French school, opened in a log building on the southeast corner of modern Pere Marquette Highway and Hawley Road. Then in 1872, a new wood frame school was built on the same site. The brick building we see here was constructed in 1913 as a one-room schoolhouse. It closed in 1939 due to lack of enrollment.
