Agent Comments
This historic property has been in the same family for generations but now it’s time to move on to a new family. Home is spacious but in need of a little TLC. Four bedrooms with a possibility of a fifth, one bath. Property runs from the river in the front to the top of the hill in back. There is a barn on the property and an extra flat located behind the home that would be perfect for gardening.

Family History
Story goes that the Adkins family’s original log cabin was washed away in the flood, because Winston Adkins, feeling that his house would be safe, ignored advice to rope off his house and tie it to several large trees. Instead, he did nothing, the water rose higher than it had ever been before, and the log cabin broke up and washed down the river.
According to www.adkins-family.org, Winston “was described as being about 5ft 8ins tall and weighing about 180 – 190 lbs and of very powerful build. His hair was completely white with a full head of hair. He had piercing blue eyes and a prominent nose.”
