Cheapish c.1919 Indiana Handyman Special For Sale With Beautiful Woodwork $79K
OHU50K Notes $79,000
Kudos to the Howe family and subsequent owners of this Indiana handyman special for sale who did not paint the woodwork! Ninety-five percent of the woodwork in this four bedroom, two bath foursquare has been untouched by the bristles of a paint brush! Staircase, built-in. colonnades, trim, window seat, even most of the second floor woodwork are all untouched. Love the stained glass, too.

Family History
J. Edwin Howe (1886-1971) had this house built for his family in 1919. He was a school principal who made a salary of $4,500 in 1940. He lived in the home with his wife, Maggie Eckert Howe (1880-1962), and children, Lowell and Edwin. Later, Edwin’s wife and step-daughter were added to the residents. The Howe family lived in the home for more than five decades. In 1954, their beautiful granddaughter, Connie, even had her wedding reception in the home.
