Family History
This in-town home was owned by farmer Joseph R. Kregar (1856-1931) who had a successful apple operation just outside of town. His first wife, Ada, died in 1883, with whom he had one daughter, Lillian. In 1886, Joseph married 16-year-old Rebecca Elizabeth Cox, with whom he had four more daughters, Myrtle, Ethel, Esther, and Josephine. The Kregars were prominent members of Junction City society, often involved with community events. Joseph even was county commissioner.
