Sold – Circa 1890 Ohio Fixer Upper on 1.46 Acres Under $40K
OHU50K Notes $39,900 Sold
You could pass by this fixer upper and never even notice it behind all the trees on this 1.46 acre lot. Built in 1890, the home is called a tear down by the realtor, but we see a lot of life left. Wallpaper and curved staircases were costly back in the 1800s, so we can assume this was a home owned by someone with some financial means.

This fixer upper is a tear down and a great investment opportunity to own a piece of history on a wonderful 1.46 wooded lot. Lots of opportunity to make it your forever home or your next flip! Call Bella today for questions.

This house is way older than 1890. It’s Greek Revival, probably closer to 1850.

Yes. You’re right.

The flush, understated columns, Asymmetry, and clear Georgian influence don’t quite justify Greek revival. It’s a federal style home. This architecture took hold after the revolution, but the style doesn’t necessarily date the home. The style would have been up to owner who commissioned the architect. Tudor homes remain on trend, and it’s been a few years since Henry and his wives.
It’s absolutely beautiful. Shame on that realtor for calling it a tear down.

Agree — absolutely not a tear down. Maybe the realtor meant to say that it was a “gut-out”. Someone replaced a roof, signalling that they expected the structure to stand. It’s absolutely beautiful. With patience, skill, and budgeting; this gem will be special. I love how it’s nestled in trees.
