Family History
Lewis Lauritzen was born in Denmark in 1867. He married Mary Hansen (1871-1948), who also was from Denmark, and both came to the US independently in the mid 1880s. They became naturalized US citizens, married around 1890, built this home and raised three daughters here, Maime, Georgia and Agnes. Lewis was a building contractor and used quality materials to build the family dream home.
Unfortunately, after the death of Mary in 1948, the home was sold to Evalyn Bonorden Nursing Home. The nursing facility was in operation at least through the late 1960s. Per newspaper articles, a lot of people died here.
