Sold – Circa 1893 Fixer Upper Victorian-Era Home in Jennings, LA Under $50K
OHU50K NOTES. $49,900 Sold on 6/20/22
This fixer upper Victorian was formerly the Freyou Flower Shop. The bad thing is not enough photos. The good is it has recently been reduced $30,000. If you are yearning for a spooky, rambling old house, this may fit the bill.
The once Freyou Flower Shop needs a new owner. Large fixer upper home in Jennings on a beautiful almost 1/2 acre lot needs some love and TLC to bring it back to life. – Per Realtor

Family History
Documents show that the Freyou family owned this home at least from the 1910s to about the year 2000. Anatole and his wife, Bella Foreman Freyou (1890-1939), lived in the home with their children, Millard, Bernadette, Ruby, Claudia, Russell and Audrey. Ruby was often noted in the papers for being an honor roll student at her high school.
Freyou (1880-1940) was the owner of the Peerless Bakery from 1911-1915. After he sold it, he opened Blue Ribbon Bread. Freyou contributed to the costs of building the Soldier’s Memorial in Jennings, and Bella often entertained friends and family at the home. Sometime down the line, the family must have opened a flower shop on the property.
