Sold – Circa 1900 Brick Fixer Upper in Hartford City, IN $35K
OHU50K NOTES. $35,000 Sold
Handsome brick fixer upper appears to be the most impressive house on the block of humble homes. I love the arched windows, the splash of imbricated shingles in the gable and the sunburst over the entry way! I’m betting hardwood floors are under those old carpets.

Family History
James Lewis (1881-1965) and Esther Grace “Ethel” McVicker (1891-1972) were married in 1911. They lived the majority of their married life in this brick home, along with their children, Paul, Mary Louise, Edith, Harriet and Julia Ann. James supported the family as a mold maker in a glass factory with help from Ethel working as a piano reacher. I don’t know if I’d want to take lessons from Ethel. All her photos looks like she’s a sour sort of person.
