History
Many of these homes were built to accommodate local factory workers and their families. The photo below shows West Princess Street homes, two blocks over from our featured home, that were built by Martin D. Zartman’s West Poplar Street brick company. Zartman’s business had just completed theses 18 homes. at the turn of the century. Note the similarities to our featured home, which lacks the balconies and arched windows, but could possibly be a less grand design built by Zartman.
