Circa 1900 Kansas Fixer Upper Under $50K
OHU50K Notes $49,900
Built around 1900, the Kansas fixer upper is perched on a knoll on a street of homes of the same era. Effie had her best china in the built-in, and Charles listened to his radio set in the cozy living room with natural woodwork. Charles and Effie would be turning over in their graves to see the condition that their beloved home of six decades has become.

History
This was originally the home of Charles Edwin Olden (1884-1967). After married Effie May Sweeney (1888-1964) in 1907, he purchased this cottage. Charles worked for the Atchkison-LFM Division of the Rockwell MFG Company for 35 years before retiring. Sadly, the couple’s only child, Charles Maurice, died at age 16. Charles lived in this home for six decades before his death in 1967, after which an estate sale liquidated all his worldly goods.
