Family History
From the 1930s to the 1970s, this was the home of Hungary-born Karl Dune. (1901-1977). Karl and his wife Lucille Miller Dune had five children, Richard, Mary, Maxine, Gordon and Lenora Ann. Karl and Lucille were co-owners of Merchants Transfer and Storage Company for 35 years. Karl, in fact was a former mayor of Marion, Ohio.
Karl may have died of a broken heart after Lucille passed away, because he died less than three months later.
