Gotta love this fixer upper Colonial Revival for the name of the own alone! Located on a corner lot in Pretty Prairie, the circa 1915 home features a lovely staircase with built-in bench, hardwood floors, spacious kitchen and original wood cupboards.
Pretty Prairie got its name from its setting. Population is 680. Per Wikipedia, “The city’s sole source of water is a single well, a 100-foot-deep borehole. Due to agricultural pollution from the region’s groundwater, the well water has had nitrate levels in excess of the federal nitrate standard since the mid-1990s. For years, Pretty Prairie distributed bottled water to at-risk families.”
In 2017, the 100-year-old water tower was dismantled and a new one was built with a water treatment plant, earning the city the 2020 KRWA Most Improved Water System award.
