Was there something attached to the side at one point? In the last picture it looks like something has been removed, you can see the outlines where something once was. Cute little house.

Me again lol…I lived at 1323 Edwardsville Rd in 1977,78 and 79…there was a store next door years ago that was built right off the side…lots of places in Granite City and Madison are built this way. If I remember correctly, this was what we called the penny candy store (confectionary) with glass cases in that center room with apothecary jars full of Mary Janes, Squirrel Nut Zippers, DumDums, those little wax bottles with syrups in them, double bubble gum, whew geez I’m old lol…oh and those little hot dogs that were hot like red hits lol and very little of this candy was wrapped and the old guy NEVER wore gloves😱 anyway, sorry, they lived in back and upstairs…but yeah, long story short, there was something attached, waaay back in the day😊
