Family History

From the 1930s to the 1980s, this was the home of the Harris family. Grover Cleveland Harris ( 1884-1963) owned the home with his wife Blanche Allred Harris (1889-1984). The couple lived here with their children, Edwin, Grover Cecil and Edith. Grover owned his own barber shop called the Climax Barber Shop for 48 years on Main Street in Danville. In fact, he was the oldest active barber in Danville as well as a member of the Master Barbers of America.
