Sold – Circa 1931 Fixer Upper Tudor Revival in Saint Louis, MO Under $35K
OHU50K Notes $34,500 Sold on 6/24/22
It’s a fixer upper now, but when Swiss immigrants Albert and Elise Gammeter purchased this home, it was a lovely brick Tudor Revival built with details that reminded the couple of their homeland. Previous to this house, the older couple always rented, but they saved up to build this lovely home.
As we look through the photos, the arched doorways, brick fireplace, hardwood floors, vintage kitchen cupboards and diamond windows speak of a time when the home was loved. The looks doable – that is until we get to the basement.
2 bedroom fixer upper brick bungalow; wood floors, archway architecture, faux fireplace, previous basement finish included 2nd bath. Some assembly required. Family History
In the 1930s, this was the home of Albert and Elise Gammeter. The couple were immigrants from Switzerland and were members of the Swiss Bowling Club. Albert was a cashier at a stove company. He didn’t get to enjoy the home for very long as he passed away in 1937. Elise subsequently sold the home.
