Sold – Circa 1951 Kansas Affordable Home Under $40K
OHU50K Notes $39,900 Sold
The two bedroom, one bath affordable home sits on a corner lot not far from the railroad tracks and commercial district.
From a 1910 article in the Abilene Daily Reflector, we discovered that an older home previously sat on this corner lot. It was owned by J.P. and R.A. Powell in the 1910s. The couple were raising their young grandson, Ray, here before selling the home to a Mrs. Williams before 1920. Whether the original home had a fire or was demolished for some other reason, we do not know. We only know, that the current home was built in 1951.
Realtor Comments
This affordable home is divided into two apartments that are adjoined with a hallway and door. The floor plan allows for it to be reconnected as one dwelling if needed. The home is structurally sound but does need some work done to it. It will make 2 nice rental units or a home to live in for the buyer.
