405 S Pinkney S, Union, SC, 29379
Although this fixer upper has a lot going for it – namely fireplaces; hardwood floors, French doors; built-ins, bullseye molding and high ceilings – it also has several drawbacks that reflect the low price. Not everyone will appreciate the exterior paint colors, but more importantly the lack of central A/C and heat, as well as the location next to a store, contribute to the low $49K price tag.
Union received its name from the old Union Church that stood nearby. The area’s population grew the most between 1762 and the beginning of the Revolutionary War. Log cabins were built with farms producing tobacco, flax, corn and wheat. Perhaps it was providence when Union was untouched during the American Civil War because the Broad River flooded and turned Sherman’s troops away from the town.
