Union SC

Union received its name from the old Union Church that stood nearby. The area’s population grew the most between 1762 and the beginning of the Revolutionary War. Log cabins were built with farms producing tobacco, flax, corn and wheat. Perhaps it was providence when Union was untouched during the American Civil War because the Broad River flooded and turned Sherman’s troops away from the town.
