History
In 1859, the Westfield Methodist church began as log building. It was constructed entirely by the members with logs cut from the neighborhood woods. After the Civil War and the country was prospering again, the members began to plan for a new and better church. A board of trustees was elected and after much planning and sacrifice the new church was built in 1877. At that time it one of the most up to date buildings of its kind in town. The Ladies Aid helped to purchase the organ, carpets, lights, and more. Mr. Hirschinger donated the bell.
