Fun Friday – Airplane House at Hotel Costa Verde
OHU50K Notes
I need to give myself some entertainment after seeing tons of dropped ceilings and peeling laminate floors, so Old Houses Under Under $50k is introducing Fun Friday. It will be a collection of weird old structures, NOT for sale, simply of interest.
Now we have heard of airplane bungalows, but an actual airplane house in a hotel??
Hotel Costa Verde boasts one of the most hotel experiences in Costa Rica – a refurbished 1965 Boeing 727 suite. In its first life, the airplane flew with South Africa Air and Avianca Airlines in Colombia. The frame was salvaged from the San Jose airport’s graveyard and transported on five tractor trailers to the jungle of Manuel Antonio.
The Boeing 727 was perched on a 50-foot pedestal, jetting out from a jungle canopy. luxurious interiors with hand-carved wooden furniture make this tree house an ultimate holiday destination.
Now it is a jumbo hotel suite with two bedrooms, a flat screen TV, dining area, kitchenette, ocean view terrace, and beautiful ocean and jungle views.
Hand-carved, teak furniture imported from Java, Indonesia, grace the suite.
