c.1907 Miner’s House – Nevada Fixer Upper For Sale With Mountain Views Under $50K
OHU50K Notes $49,900
I can only imagine what life was like back in 1907 when this Nevada fixer upper for sale was built.
It was a long distance and a far cry from Vermont when J.W. Long journeyed from his home state to settle in White County, Nevada, in 1878. After discovering gold, however, he set up a camp in Ely, marking the start of Ely’s history as a gold and copper mining town, and with mining came the railroad. Most likely, copper miners once lived in this c.1907 hipped roof, two bedroom, one bath fixer upper bungalow.
Although Ely (pop. 3,924) is a copper boom town still today, the railroad acts only as a preserved heritage railway known as the Ghost Train of Old Ely.
Ely has a semi-arid climate with extreme day-night temperature differences year-round. The town’s nighttime temps account for it being counted as one of the coldest places in the contiguous United States, with an average of 217 nights per year with a minimum temperature of 32 °F or less. Frosts have been recorded in every month of the year, even July. Elevation, dry air, clear skies and location in a valley account for its climate.
717 Pine St, Ely, NV 89301 $49,900
