Before and After of a Fixer Upper in Richmond Kentucky
Old Houses Under $50K and Beyond featured this home back in February 2020. It sold for $37,000, was flipped and sold again for $149,900. I can’t believe they painted over the fireplace tile. What do you think?

Great investment property in the heart of Richmond. Fixer upper still has original fireplaces, mantles, and hardwood flooring. This is a flippers next great project. As is.

Pros – some original doors are in place, t+g ceiling, new electrical outlet plates. The home looks clean. Some lovely casings, baseboards. The house is still standing, so perhaps someone will appreciate it enough to properly restore it some day. In the meantime, I hope this makes a happy family home.
Clearly this project was not a restoration. The floors are offensive, imo. Perhaps the original floors were unsalvageable. But of the 4 (or more) new floorings, none are compatible with the house. At least the paint can be removed from those gorgeous tile fireplaces. Those were beautiful. Overall, sad. Profit over preservation is never good.

Agree. The tiles being painted over were the biggest disappointment.
