OHU50K NOTES

Here is an old post office for sale in Cassville, Georgia, complete with the old post boxes. Built in 1889, the tiny building served its purpose for decades before Cassville’s new modern post office was built a half mile away. After that time, the building housed a museum.

Cassville

Cassville, platted in 1833, was named in the honor of General Lewis Cass, who was a Michigan statesman and Secretary of War in the Cabinet of President Andrew Jackson.

The name was changed to Manassas in 1861 after the success of the Confederacy in the First Battle of Bull Run. That turned out to be an unfortunate decision, because as a direct result, the town was burned by Sherman 1864 and never fully recovered.

REALTOR COMMENTS

Great corner lot w/ Historic post office for sale. Own a piece of history w/ the Old Cassville Post Office on the property. The listed price is actually for two lots in one, w/ two addresses, two tax id’s, and two deeds, 1809 & 1813 Cassville Rd NW, Cartersville, GA.

There is already electricity & a water meter. Lot would be beautiful w/ a modern farmhouse built on it to go w/ the historic area it is located in. Seller is a licensed contractor & will build to suit or just sell the land.
