Family History
Rev. Dr. George T. Arnold (1876-1967) was a former official of the Presbyterian church. In July 1904, he married Lois Ann Lawson, but sadly, she died in December of the same year of acute nephritis. Dr. Arnold married his second wife, Jessie Ann Sweet, in 1908 and the couple had two children, Constance and Robert. They moved into this home around 1915 and lived there for about 10 years. Dr. Arnold was elected synod chairman of the Presbyterian board of National Missions in Kansas in 1923 and, until 1940 and supervised 800 churches. He founded the Kansas Presbyterian News. After the family left Kansas, he was manager of Hubbard Press, a church publishing house in Auburn, N.Y., for 18 years.

Such a shame that it has gotten into this state of disrepair!! That main staircase and the stained glass windows are some of the best I have seen. This home will take a lot of work but it has a huge potential.
