History
The Emlenton Historical Society reports on two notable examples of Italianate style homes in the town’s historic district. Oilman T. B. Gregory’s home at 202 Main Street is a wood frame house of 2 1/2 stories with a bracketed cornice and window heads of incised wood. The other example of note is our featured home at 518 College Street. Built in 1870, the home is a three-bay Italianate ” with a centered double entry door with transom, French windows on the first floor, and a wood porch with chamfered posts, sawn bracketry, and an upper balustrade.”
