Save This Old Circa West Virginia School For Sale $25K
OHU50K Notes $25,000
This old hand-cut stone, castle-like school for sale sits on .41 acres in a small West Virginia town. The facade is fabulous, but the inside is a goner.
The school is in very, very poor condition and is not usable at this time. The best use for this school would be salvage value of the rare hand-cut stone, some possible flooring in the old gym area, metal stairwells and other building / electrical materials. The location is approximately 15 minutes to Glenville, Glenville State University, schools, stores, restaurants, churches and other conveniences. The property is a little over an hour to Parkersburg, WV. The rare hand-cut stone is worth more than the asking price of $25, 000.00.

The town of Tanner was founded in 1812 by Samuel Tanner and his family. The Tanners established a home in a cave, under the cliffs where Spencer Middle School now stands. The cave consisted of two rooms with a partition of rock in between. The smaller room served as a stable for livestock.
The Masons laid the cornerstone for the school in 1928. I believe the building was the Tanner High School.
Why is it not suited for Reno? Does it have asbestos?
The agent thinks it is too far gone to be worth it.
