Built in the early 1900’s. Zoned residential. Started out as a funeral home/residence. Been a residence for the last 10 years. House had a fire upstairs in 2019 and has not been lived in since. Electric , water, gas are not hooked up. This would be a unbelievable home if you can afford to fix it up. Estimates range from $100k to $150k to restore house. It has a large side paved lot that goes with property. Taxes run around $1400 year. The attached garage is 50′ by 55′ which could hold 8 cars. It has a full basement. It also has a elevator in the house. No contract sale !!! I will not answer if it’s still available. If the ad is up it’s for sale!! House is located at 211 S Main St. Sullivan, Indiana.

Wow, it would take about $300,000 for me on that place. That paved backyard would have to go!And as silly as it sounds, I would have to have a priest come in and pray over the house. I hope someone saves it !

The funeral home thing would be a problem for me. There’s a now residence that was a funeral home where I live. That same funeral home handled final arrangements for a lot of families ( mine included. My mom, grandmother, aunt and more distant relatives were all handled with that funeral home. I guess what really bothers me is the thought of the people now living there using the same room as my mom’s viewing as a den dining room or man cave. Also they really play up the funeral home thing around Halloween.

Actually it is getting restored and keeping the feel of the age of the building and time it was built.
