OHU50K NOTES

I sure hope someone saves this old house before it goes the way of the beauty that once was next door. You can see what was between our featured home and the commercial building in the 2016 Google Map photo below. What a shame!

The proximity to downtown is not a selling point, but the outstanding interior elements may override that deficit. Glorious natural woodwork, archways, original lighting fixture, pocket doors, hardwood floors, window seat, staircase, amazing kitchen cupboards and old tile are still intact as if it were 1880 again! I may be crazy, but interior-wise, I could peel off the hanging wallpaper, paint, and be perfectly happy as long as the bathrooms work and can be cleaned up.

FYI

Shelbina is a low-crime community of about 1,700 residents. Moving from job to job, Sam Walton, founder of Walmart, and his family moved to the town in the 1930s. In fact, While attending eighth grade in Shelbina, Sam became the youngest Eagle Scout in the Missouri’s history.
